My Community

There's many ways to define a personal online "community". For me it's a combination of 1) communities/organizations in which I participate and, 2) communities/organizations that I admire and/or help me with information and insights in Internet Marketing. Here's a few examples.

Communities/Organizations in Which I Participate

LinkedIn - I love this site! I finally have a way to find and re-establish communications with many of the co-workers I've known over my 25-plus year Marketing and Sales career!

SEMNE - Acronym for Search Engine Marketing New England. This organization was started by Jill Whalen, SEO guru. Meetings every other month with area SEO experts highlight this organization's activities.

Facebook - I have to admit, Facebook is a still bit new to me, but I'm getting into it. I have a few Friends and just set up a Fan page for a youth basketball program (see below).

CYBL - My hometown youth basketball league that provides basketball instruction and games. I'm the Webmaster and Information Director and serve on the Board of Directors with a lot of great folks who donate their time and energy so that 1,200 2nd thru 12th grade boys and girls can participate in a healthy, action-filled activity each Winter.

The Legend of Marco Scutaro - a just-for-fun, tongue-in-cheek blog "honoring" my favorite Boston Red Sox player from the 2011 season while polking fun at Red Sox ownership!

Communities/Organizations I Admire And/Or Are Internet Marketing Resources

HubSpot - The founders of HubSpot are the fathers of "Inbound Marketing". HubSpot took a concept and turned it into a full-blown marketing movement, and in so doing became the knowledge hub for those of us who believe that Inbound Marketing is the future of Internet Marketing.

Mass MoCA - The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA. To say that this place can open your mind up to new ways to express yourself is putting it mildly! And that's never a bad thing when it comes to Internet Marketing! Combine that with the beautiful drive out to western Mass from the greater Boston area and you've got a day trip to remember!
