Oh no! Not another blog post on link building!
But wait! Please don’t click away ’til you read this very short post and watch an unbelievably helpful how-to link building video by Rand Fishkin, co-founder of MOZ.
What’s the big deal about link building? Because you can’t improve the visibility of your Web site for a specific keyword phrase in Google’s search index without getting those first few links to that site using link building techniques.
And why is link building important to Google? Because the most important Web page ranking factor discovery Google made early on, and continues to be the backbone of Google’s search algorithm to this day, is ranking Web pages by the number and quality of the links pointing to that Web page from other indexed Web sites.
Now for the (usually) hard part – getting those first few links! In the short 8 minute video below titled, “The 3 Easiest Link Building Tactics Any Website Can Use to Acquire Their First 50 Links”, Rand Fishkin makes this usually dry, difficult subject a direct and straightforward how-to project.
Video self-description: “Without a solid base of links, your site won’t be competitive in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages) — even if you do everything else right. But building your first few links can be difficult and discouraging, especially for new websites. Never fear — Rand is here to share three relatively quick, easy, and tool-free (read: actually free) methods to build that solid base and earn yourself links.”
Trust me – these will be the BEST 8 minutes you’ve ever spent on link building!
